B16A help with idle air control valve
I just pulled out my GF's B16A2 outta her 99 civic Si swapped everything like manifold oil pump crank sensor and put it on a obd1 engine. Its fully obd2 now and every other day it seems the check engine light comes on my buddie read it with his mac tools scanner and the engine code is idle air control valve. I pulled the valve off blew it out with the air gun and brake cleaned some black crap off the screen. it is better but still everyday or so the same code keeps coming on. It was fine before the swap and never threw this code. I don't want to buy a new one since there a few hundred bucks. All I can think is is I did bang the valve and broke the TPS off puttin the engine in not hard but hard enough to break the TPS. I put a new one on but did'nt set the voltage my buddie says he has never set a TPS and had any trouble could that have anything to do with the Idle air control valve setting the engine light off? any help with this one would be great thanks

Re: B16A help with idle air control valve
You need to set the voltage on the tps, and for the iac you need to unplug it and disconnect the negative on the battery for a few seconds. then plug the iac back together then reconnect the battery and start the car there after.....
