B16A engine with used B20b crankshaft?

B16A engine with used B20b crankshaft?
Is it safe to used the b20b crankshaft inside a B16A block using stock b16a rods? because i want to buff the displacement.
1.) Do i need to change intake manifold and t-body?
2.) Do i need to tune my engine?
3.) If the compression ratio reaches 11.5:1 do i need to get ARP studs? I'm will still use the stock pistons and cams anyway.
4.) Is a re-bore necessary? I'm not going to race it anyway just want a bit more power.
5.) How much is a used b20 crankshaft?

IM NOT POSITIVE BUT IM PRETTY SURE YOU CANT USE THE B20 CRANK ON A B16, ALSO I WOULD SAY REGARDLESS USE ARP BOLTS STUDS ETC.... IF IT WAS ME ID RATHER BUILD A B20 VTEC AND FORGET ABOUT DOING THAT WANNA B STROKER. JUST MY 2 CENTS

The one thing i know for sure is that both B18B and B20B use the same cranks. Can you use it in a B16, don't think so man, the block is shorter

i think the b16 rods are the shortest you can use man. like i said id recommend you do a b20vtec, if not boost up your compression ratio by throwing some ctr pistons and cams "valvetrain" on your b16a. if not just go crazy and turbo the b16.

Re: B16A engine with used B20b crankshaft?
i just went to a comp calculator site and i might use a b18 crank will it fit in the b16?
And also if i use a B-series 2-layer head gasket with the b18 crankshaft the comp ratio jumps from 10.4:1 up to 12.0:1.
So if its 12.0:1 can i still use the stock b16a studs?

yeah, everyone here's right. Can't really do an OEM Stroker kit. The b16 block is physically shorter and your b16 pistons are the shortest you can get. If you're going to all that trouble, why not LSVTEC? or B20VTEC? I have one and its as reliable as any Honda motor i've ever had

Re: B16A engine with used B20b crankshaft?
why not ls/vtec? why not b20vtec? dont get me wrong those setups are great if thats what your budget can produce. why would you bother retapping the head running extra lines and have 50 more opportunities for headgasket/oil/everything issues.
buy a gsr bare block and put the b20/LS crank/rods in it. Golden eagle oil squirter block off kit, bearings for a ls, ARP 8mm rod bolts unless going with forged rods/pistons. itr/ctr pistons. ls vtec is just a cheap way to get some top end it's not as reliable as a straight b-series vtec head block

it is a cheaper way to get top end but if you build it right (which I did) it'll last you a while and you'll still have money in your pocket. I'm all for GSR but LSVTEC was a better choice financial-wise for me

what ever crankshaft you have you have to use the matching rods. such as, b16 crank will only work with b16 rods. the b20 and ls cranks have the same stroke. so you might be able to use a b20 crank in a ls motor. or vise versa. all the blocks are the same. except the b20 which has a 84mm bore. b16 ls and gsr bore is 81mm.

well the rod length of the LS rods if it works with the B20 crank wouldn't work for the b16 block since its shorter. Right?

Correct the guy above you have the bore's right but that's obvious and common sense he doesn't understand deck height. b16 block is indeed shorter. use the b16 block if you want something high revving and no torque use the b18/b20 block for torque. b20/ls crank in either but i am pretty sure you cannot use the b20/LS crank in b16.

Re: B16A engine with used B20b crankshaft?
I will get a b18c1 head and a B20 block. So i should use an 84 mm piston size, but what compression ratio for the pistons do you guys recommend? I dont want to change into ARP bolts yet i'm kinda short on cash right now and i'm not gonna race it on a drag strip i just want enough torque and power. It's a daily driven car.

Does anyone know what this is: "Piston Dome Displacement
(cc per piston)" saw it a compression calculator site and how do you compute this?

A few things......
1) I would say you need to do "a lot" of research before you go any further
2) engine building is nor cheap, you you say you are on a budget
3) aside from the engine, you will need a good tuning setup, both ecu, and a tuner
Sit down and do some serious planning
