B16A build questions
i have a short block B16A collecting dust, it's time to start building it. i'll make this easy as possible.
1] a cylinder wall has a score from the previous owner blowing a ring. could i just bore the cylinders over? or would i need to resleeve the block? [HT wont allow me to post pix, but i'd say its like less than 1mm deep of a scratch]
2] the crank has 7/26-8 written on it, what is that?
3] what would be my best option for pistons [since they'll be replaced anyway from the scratched cylinder], that can use the oem b16 rods/crank i have? [i want a high compression, street/strip motor]
4] would i have to tune, with this block mating a mild b16 head? if so, how does a first timer do this?
setting this up to go in my ex coupe. replacing my y8.
thanks in advance.

Re: B16A build questions
well if you looked stuff up than your questions would be answered. To number 3 you would be losing your time making a high compression street/strip motor and for pistons basically any b series with some execptions due to compression set ups. #4 to get the best out of any motor you would have to tune it. This is probably were everything will be put to its potential. The wall thing is up to you if it can be bored out to 82 than think about it I guess but I wouldnt recomend it because a thinner wall isnt exactly the safeist thing.

Re: B16A build questions
my bad. i'll try researching more. i was only asking questions i was having a hard time finding an answer to. anyways..
i have 2 pictures of the scratch in the cylinder, if anybody could let me know if you were in my shoes, would you resleeve this? or bore it out? that's all i wanna know. also, if it doesn't hurt anybody to type an answer for my other [probably stupid question, but i'm learning] could i put bigger pistons on the pr3 rods for my b16? or when you get new pistons, new rods are required as well? not looking to offend anybody, just need some helpful answers.
