Default b16a and b18c have the same timing belts

I've been researching this and everybody on here says its different, just because its 1.8 vs 1.6. that doens't make a difference. I had to buy a water pump and timing belt at acura dealership for a gsr to install on a friends 2000 si since honda didnt have the water pump in stock, and everything worked out okae. the timing belts both have the same # of teeth and so does the water pump. Some people also said that the b16a has lower deck height than a b18c which is true, but if both timing belt has the same # of teeth then they are exactly the same. Just FYI for people in the future.

I'm lookin into changing oil pump for my b18c and honda has a SI water pump $10 cheaper than acura. Anybody know for sure if they differ or are they the same?

i am not sure on the way you worded it. but the deck hieghts are different from the 1.6 to the 1.8. if you change anything buy a gsr or a itr oil and water pump. that way they can keep up with the high revs.

ya.. i know the deck height is slightly different between the two, but its the tensioner that adjust for that, not the belt. I was reading into people saying gsr timing belts are longer because of that, but if they have the same exact # of teeth and the gear teeth are the same length apart, how can the timing belt be longer. Just to prove to myself, i installed it onto a friend and everything fit perfectly. Installed gsr timing belt and water pump onto 00 si with a b16a.
