B16a in '93 Civic 4-door auto?
A friend of mine has a '93 4-door with auto trans and wants to do a b-16a swap. We are just in the planning stages. I was thinking of going with the first gen b16a, and doing a gray plug conv. and using the early cable clutch tranny, I was just wondering about installing the clutch pedal and all that. Would it be easier to get the cable set up like I assumed or get the hydrolic off of the newer style and go with hydro clutch and a B16A3 SiRII? All I gotta say is sleeper. Which ECU will be needed for the swap? All the mounts should work right? Excuse my ignorance I know jack **** except '88-'91 civic crxes, but I really need to learn more I am too close minded right now.

if your talking about a cable style b16, you must be looking at getting a JDM b16...in which case they will usually supply a ecu w/ the swap. the auto to manual swap will be a bitch as well...are you doing this yourself, or at a shop?

by myself, i have access to an almost unlimited amount of tools, though. the thing i wondered was would it be easier to use the cable tranny or the hydro?

my Eg was an auto before the swap, too. It's a bitch. I was fortunate enough to be able to pay someone else to do it, but it was rough. the two main problems are the pedal assembly (getting the old one out) and actually mounting the shifter. the hole in the automatic car is too big to mount the shifter, so you'll have to fabricate something, unless there's some parts out there I'm missing.
hell of a sleeper though. It'll all be worth it when it's done.
good luck
