b16 wont go into gear!?!?!
Okay guys here's the scoop. I have 2000 Honda Civic Si with a b16a swap. b16a trans.
Swap done by me and has been perfect for the last 3 months.
Recently when i would pull into a parking spot in first gear and press down the clutch, the car would "hop" or try to move still EVEN with clutch pressed in. i would shut the car off and turn back on. and it would be fine. well over the weeks it got worse, lately it stopped going into first all together and i would have to start from second. now none of gears will work!!!
the first time this happend i check the master cylinder and slave. replaced the slave and re bled everything. still no difference. next i changed and refilled tranny fluid.... this helped! for a bout 3 days :/ now i cant get into any gear unless i start it in first. PLEASE HELP!
I dont think its the clutch its self because if im driving and i engage the clutch the rpms will drop as if the clutch still exists. i just cant select gears!!!!
i believe its the shift fork.... when i changed the slave cylinder i noticed and EXTREME amount of play in the fork. i also think it could be throwout bearing or both.
im taking the trans off this weekend... can anyone tell me what to look for? what it may be??? are my assumptions correct???? ive read some other forums and people say a pressure plate spring but im not sure bout that....
Anyway,
if im leaving out any info i apologize and will provide you with any knowledge to help your diagnosis. Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: b16 wont go into gear!?!?!
Sounds like the clutch disk has thrown a spring, and is forcing engagement by pinning itself against the flywheel at times. Its possible for the spring to rattle around in there and occasionally allow disengagment making it possible for you to shift sometimes, then it will get stuck again. The "hop" its doing is a dead give away. Just did my clutch last weekend on my ej1 and it was doin same thing you describe, wen i pulled tje clutch apart a spring fell out, it came off the disk just as i thought. Its actually a fairly common way for these clutches to fail. Shift fork is a possibility tho so dont rule it out.
