B16 vac/boost gauge ?? erratic at times
So ive almost got everything for my turbo setup.. just waiting on chipping components now... My gauges got here and decided to go ahead and put them in.. basically what happens is it is steady at idle and steady on acell/decell but when im cruising it fluctuates up and down.. not a lot maybe 3-5 ticks.. is this normal?? i use to have one on my delsol back in the day and it never did this.. it was a d16z6 so maybe thats the difference? The b16 was in my hatchie when I got it and there have been things that make me wonder if it has a more aggressive cam in it.. but i havnt had a reason to take them out, so i havnt checked yet. once warm when it idles the rpms move up n down just a bit.. and the exhaust sounds like it has a lope to it. any insight? i searched but nothing like what is going on with mine. I am currently running an OBDII gsr ecu... maybe this has something to do with it?? im going OBDI when i turbo it an ill be running the proper map then.. but at the same time my car doesnt seem to not like the extra fuel supplied by the 1.8l ecu... it runs strong and I have whomped up on quite a few civic SI's too.. more so than what I would think the weight difference would make. just babbling now so any ideas guys?

I don't know what "3-5 ticks" means, but as far as movement of the boost gauge its common. During idle vacuum being pulled, when you begin to accelerate vacuum is being utlilized - and your gauge is registering this information. It is working like its supposed to.

Tuning with the right ECU should fix all ills. You may see the vac. move around a little still. Mine does...accessories coming off and on, brake booster, etc.

at idle it sits at about 22 vac at WOT its near 0... while cruising it floats.. there would have to be vac at idle the motor is still running
