Default B16 trans on B18b?? (tried searching)

Anyone have any idea if it's safe and/or advisable to use a 5 speed from a 94 Si on an LS? Will they mate? Thanks..

94 Si came with a D16Z6...you cannot mate a D-series tranny to a b-series engine.

A b16 tranny or a GSR tranny would be a nice upgrade for an LS motor

even if it were possible i think the LS has shorter gears than a 94 si anyways
(just to clarify, its not possible)

it is possible, just impractical. someone could fabricate an adapter plate to make the D16Z fit the B18B. it's all about the money.

94 Si is the D16Z, unless he's talking about the Del Sol VTEC which is NOT an Si.

maybe he thought the 94 si had a b16 tranny cuz everyone calls a b16 tranny as 'si tranny'
so hes confused?

Sorry for the mix-up guys. Flipnotik is right as in Si Hatch = Si Coupe in my mind. I'm new to Hondas, but certainly not new to cars, and I'm working on a LS turbo into a 94 Si.

Well..now that I got the news that I'll def have to spend more $$, anyone know of a cheap/reliable source for LS trans'? Or better still, an engine/trans combo from an LS?

Thanks again.

as bauleycivic said, id probably save up a bit more for a b16 tranny or gsr tranny.. oooor a bit more from those for a type r tranny

as far as cheap/reliable places to get one, i have no idea unless you work with hookups.

so you'd probably just have to search the classifieds or look into shops/warehouses that carry transmissions, etc. theres plenty of them out there
