Default B16 SWAP PROBLEMS!!!

ok so long story short.
bought a ej1 coupe and got myself a b16A. the stamp on the head says 9/1 which means 1991 correct?

well anyways we swaped it in the car and we got a code which was vtec. fixed that and all the other problems. but now the car wont start..

it struggles to turn on, sounds like it has no gas but it primes so thats not it. we switched the map sensors and still nogo. we pulled out the spark plugs and found it was flooded with gasoline and we tried to start the car and it just backfires a lot but still wont crank over fully.

what do you think is wrong? the guy that helped me put the motor in says it could be the ECU but i dont want to belive him because almost every other problem he stated wasnt true so it starting to sound like hes just guessing.

how would i get that unburnd fuel out of my sparkplug area? and what do YOU guys think is wrong??

Most of the time that is how you diagnose a problem, good guess work almost always works on my behalf.

As for the fuel, just leave the plugs out over night. What ecu are you running? What degree is timing at? Also check timing again. Check the dizzy.

were using his chipd p28 ecu. when he bought this car, it came with a stock b16 and then he pulled it and swaped in his LSV.

but now he selling the LSV and we got the b16 and used all the OEM stuff off his last one. the dizzy if off his LSV and the timing is normal. we didnt mess with it; its a bone stock b16. but ifa ll i gotta do is leave the plyugs out over night then what? try to start it again after the fuel dries up>?

god i hope it is

how much fuel is in the engine? Just pull the ecu fuse from under the hood (blue 15), pull the plugs and crank the engine for 10 sec intervals. Almost like youre priming the engine after a build. When the fuel stops shooting out of the cylinders, leave it and let it dry.

Check spark before you clear the cylinders of fuel! I have money on your dizzy.

Your plug gapping is correct?
Try letting the cylinders dry out, if their flooded, you wont get much of a response.

You say you have fuel and spark. You obviously have air, but is the timing correct?
Where is your distributor set at? Are your plug wires in the proper order?

Fuel in your cyls usually means, injectors stuck open, no spark at all, or incorrect spark timing(plug wires in the wrong order or sensor in dist bad).

A few things to think about.

well the dizzy was OBD2 so we switchd it for OBD1 and my friend tried his best to post it in the center but he put it a little retarted just in case.

get a noid light to make sure injectors are getting a pulse signal, and not getting a solid 12v signal. if you're not getting a code, and you do get spark, I doubt you have a dizzy problem, stock ecu is usually good about picking up bad sensors. you could try checking to see if the injectors are clicking open and closed by running a 12v+ to one pin and ground the other pin. just tap the ground wire on the intake manifold a couple times to make sure the injectors are clicking (make sure you have no fuel pressure in the rail or you'll flood the cylinders again). if you want, I can check the dizzy on my oscilloscope to verify TDC, CYL, & CKP sensors are good, but like I said, they're probably good if the ecu isn't throwing a code
