bleed your coolant system, make sure there are no air bubbles. after you do that, there is an adjustment screw on your throttle body, it takes a flathead screwdriver, try adjusting that after you burp your coolant

you might need to adjust your tps sensor. the one behind the intake manifold. its a 3 pin plug. you need an ohm meter so you can adjust it to 700-800 ohms. or you can get a flat head screw driver and turn the screw on the throttle body clockwise until your idle starts to go down. also check your ignition timing or distributor. advance or retard it which ever and make sure its set correctly.

damn it could be the distributor i didt think off that because it was idling high the only thing that sucks is the engine is so loud cause i dont have the down pipe from the headers connected and is there a reason why the engine is smoking a little is that do to not having enough coolant or what

well you always need coolant no matter what. at least have some water before it over heats. if the engine is smoking its because of the timing. unscrew the distributor bolts. Theres three 12mm bolt. after you unscrew them start your car and gently move the distributor either toward your firewall (advance) or away from firewall (retard) you should hear how ur motor sounds. if you can decide then keep it in the middle and advance it a lil. BUt I beleive its ur tps sensor. you need to adjust that. being a swap the tps usually breaks off.. so people take them off or get a new one and usually have to adjust it again.

i have the same problem at start up is idles around 1000rpm for maybe a second then jumps to about 2200 and hold there replaced map sensor replaces tps repalced intake manifold gasket and tb gasket replaced tb bleed coolant replaced iacv even made a block off plate for it nothing helped it but if i unplugg the map sensor idle goes to normal but runs like hell ???? the car runs fine once u get it out of idle but once ur outta the throttle it goes down to about 1000 and then jumps to 2000rpm

check your vacuum! make sure theres no air leaks or any coolant leak.. also you can try and change ecu.. see what happens.
