B16 SiR II Engine Swap In my EG next week!
$2500 installed. Full complete B16A2 swap. YEA! Hydro tranny and all. I might add lsd later, but now I dont think I will (its an extra $300 is it worth it?). I can also add any options right now (racing clutch, new timing belt, ect. ect.) I was wondering what else I should get along with my swap. Also are aftermarket b series mounts way better than the ones they will be using?

only 300 more for the lsd? get that **** then but ask what kind it is.
as for the others.
i would do a clutch, Pressure plate, resurface the flywheel if its needed, replace the timing belt, and water pump, its easy as hell when the motor is out.

lsd is worth it! and while they are putting the motor in a timing belt change would be good! if you can get a clutch get that too! it would suck if you put the motor in and find out the clutch is gone. oh and its a EG some steal braided clutch lines would be nice they are cheaper than factory lines! good luck! hope everything works out great!

GET THE LSD, I have lsd on my b16 sir2 and I can lauch the F outta it, lol. I can smoke my friends b16 without LSD. So go for it, do the waterpump, timing belt and clutch.

What he said. You'll love the B16, people hate but it's a great motor.

I wouldn't even put the motor in unless you replace the timing belt and water pump.
Definatly get the lsd, well worth the money spent (i'll be needing one and i'm lookig to spend about $900),
Clutch is a good idea too. What are your plans for the car? Bolt-on? boost ?

Defiantly go with the b-series mounts then. When I did my swap, before installing it I filled my mounts with rtv silicone to make them solid. Cheap but effective way to reduce wheel hop. It cost me a total of $0.00 (free from work) and I'm glad I did it.

That is a great deal.
Get the LSD and do the things that other people have been saying. Preventive maintenance always helps.

Thats cheap installed!!!!!! Get the frickin LSD The problem with putting a new clutch and **** n is that the motor and tranny come bolted together and you mechanic may not want to dick with it for 2400. IF you do definatley get a flywheel them bitches are cheap on ebay. Throw in the clutch t-belt and pump, might as well get all the FREE labor you can.

Definately go with the LSD now. I love mine. If you decide you want an LSD later, it will be an expensive pain-in-the-***. Know what kind is being offered first though. A gear-type (such as Quaife) is stupid durable. A clutch-type (a la Kaaz) is sweet (I like the feel), but the clutch plates are subject to wear and require peroidic rebuilds.
Have the timing belt, tensioner and water pump replaced also. There is no room for debate on this one.
Enjoy your new power plant....
