Default B16 Related: Vtec and Cam seals

Hey Gang,

I have a 00 Si with close to 200K on the motor and am looking to replace my Vtec and Cam seals. I do see just a bit of oil running down from what looks to be the Vtec solenoid.

Just need to know which are the right parts? Looks like #12, #8, and possibly #14. Thanks in advance.

If you never split open the VTEC solenoid then more then likely 14 is not needed. If you buy 12 get 10 with it. That is the VTEC oil screen, might as well replace it. 8 is always a good thing to get. Also (not on the picture you showed) but look into a dist. O-Ring as well.

Thanks. Yeah the solenoid itself is not leaking; rather it's leaking where it connects to the head. Regarding the o-ring, are you referring to number 6 on the diagram below?

Looking at the Helms right now... how hard is it to replace these?

Bump. If anyone has any advice about the install feel free to share. Looks pretty strightforward from what I can tell.

Correct number 6 is the O ring. What are you looking for advice on changing?

The distributor o-ring is super easy to install!
Mark the distributor on the upper flange so you can reinstall in the same position.
Remove the 12mm 3 bolts.
Put some rags under the distributor to catch the oil as some will come out.
Remove distributor.
Replace the o-ring.
Reinstall distributor in previously installed position.
BAM!
Thats it!

Basically, any idiosyncrasies exclusive to removing/installing solenoid or distributor. The description above is perfect. Thanks guys.
