b16 issue..
I searched before hand just thrown off by something.
I have a b16a2 bottom with b17(pr3) head in my 92 civic hatch.
My car has been running great but has been puffing blue smoke when I start out in 1st gear or when I pass on the highway leaving it in 5th and accelarating.
Last night I drove the car to a family members house and my wife said it was puffing white smoke instead of blue, but the car was still running fine.
Go to leave and start it up and it didnt sound right, drove it home the wife said it was not blowing any smoke at all but my car had no power and sounded like a wrx.
Get it home popped the hood and noticed my cat was glowing red. I have a magnaflow high flow cat with about 2000 miles.
Took the spark plugs out and I have oil on the tips of spark plugs 2 and 3. I am assuming I have bad piston rings in chambers 2 and 3 but I am thrown off by the red cat?
Lastly oil is clean as well as the coolant. Oil is about 3/4 full and coolant is full.
Any Ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Re: b16 issue..
I am running a chipped p28 ecu.
Btw the car will rev all through the rpm's and ran finebefore I parked it, sat for two hours and then I had the issue as I described in my original post.
boosted - makes sense about the cat glowing the two plugs were heavily coated in oil.
