b16 idle problem...idles @2500-3000 rpm
i have a jdm b16 in a 93 civic ex...i just got done putting it back together.....started it up runs fine but it idles at 2500-3000 rpms.... throttle cable isnt even hooked up yet..... the adjuster nut isnt even turned down so low the car shouldnt even be running...... a buddy of mine told me to put some cardbord between the iacv and the intake......done that it dropped down to 2200 rpms..... i think my iacv is bad but its not throwing any codes other than IAT and that is because i got an hondata intake manifold gasket.....anyone please hlep....i need my car

i forgot where but theres two types, one can be found on the integra ls (which has the longer bolt pattern, and then theres the one with the shorter bolt pattern found on the civic ex.
i cant remember if the b16 is a dual type, which can accept either, someone check me on this

I had the same problem when i did a B16 head swap on my GSR. Its the IAC sensor cable that is not hooked up into the right terminal (pretty sure). Clean it out by opening up the sensor and use intake manifold cleaner, its a spray. Get your helms out and check the harness cables depending on what harness you are running it to. Hopefully thats it. But I had the same symptoms...it bounced, it was high, and I fixed it by doing that, it was to the wrong sensor port. bleck/yellow. You also might need to adjust your throttle body by tightening the top screw (flathead) and adjusting the bottom screw (alan key and 8mmm i think) kepp us posted.
