Try reseting the ECU by disconnecting the battery for a few seconds, then see if the CEL comes back on.

thanks for the reply i tried that and i ran the car, refilled the water that leaked out all the bubbles out of the radiator, i disconnected the batter for an hour or more, while i went to sleep and took out the backup fuse also. i also tried unplugging the ecu as well, and im still getting it

what does the code say? beside 6 times? i never heard of a cel for temp problem, or i could be just out of it. I would try this, take the single wire that goes to the temp sending unit in your head and ground it. Turn on the car and see if the temp guage moves up. Do not let it sit there you have to be some what quick on the draw so you dont **** up the guage.

thats the weird thing about it, my gauge reads fine it goes from cold when starting up the car to almost the middle when the car is hot, the fans turn on no other codes are thrown only that one also forgot to mention this is a b18c1 block with a b16 head and a chipped p28 ecu to run as a gsr
never had any codes before but i recently took out the engine to replace all gaskets and seals because it was leaking oil and i wanted to check all the internals and all are fine but im stuck with this light for now
