b16 in a ek, L bracket?

Default b16 in a ek, L bracket?

hey guys i am doing a b16 swap into a ek. i brought innovative motor mounts but people is telling me i need an si L bracket....what exactly is a L bracket and do i really need it? i tried doing some reseach but is a little kinda hard to understand, so can you guys please tell me if i need it and hopefully post a pic please, thanks!

its the rear tranny bracket from a 99-00 SI, its kinda L or T shaped

just a b16a 1gen w/ a gsr hydo tranny...so there is a big different in the dx t bracket and the si one huh?

only one that will work for you is the 99-00 SI

L bracket, is the bracket that is by the timing belt attached to the block, it loooks like an up side down L.

wrong but good try.. most people call that bracket the "claw"

yea i have a b18c in my ek, all the motor mounts are from an 99-00 si, because the si comes stock with a b16a in an ek

if you have a 99-00 SI swap you can use the stock sohc upper tranny mount and timing belt mount
then you need 94+ teg or 99-00 SI front torque mounts

but he has aftermarket mounts so all he needs is the rear SI bracket

which are you talking about
stock sohc upper tranny mount works on dohc, are you talking about the front torque mount?

yeah that mount that you bought will prolly not work for a 1st gen b16, unless you get a driverside claw braket. Or unless b16 mount will be able to go into that bracket for that mount. Yea I know it sounds confusing. But next time, before you go out and buy **** figure out what you really need.

and Yes you need the L bracket that goes between the rear of the engine and crossmember (right by the firewall). You need one of 99-00 SI.

on 6 you can use your stock SOHC mount, it works

really i tried fitting it but the holes on the sohc bracket dont line up??

what tranny? what car?

worked for me every time- my gsr swapped 97 uses the stock sohc mount

well 96 civic hb dx with a gsr tranny but i thought the ek bracket is a lil different no?

nope its the same
you just need mount #1,10, 7 and E-14 in that pic
