Default B16 cOld start?

Ok so this only happens in the winter but when it's really cold but when I start my car it cuts off immediately. If I stay on the gas until it gets warm then it will idle fine. The worst part is when I start to drive my car wOnt rev past 3500. Sometimes after driving for awhile I can shut it off then turn it back on and it will work fine. I'm thinking since I have an aftermarket distributor that might be the problem. Does anyone know what could cause this? Oh and it's throwing a code for a bad catalytic converter but I don't think that's the problem.

i know my car does this i have to give it alil gas untill it warms up just alil and it will hold and idle after a minute. but i dont have a FITV so not having one of those when its cold takes forever to warm up. a bad cat could be robbing u mpg and hp if its plugged up,but if its just busted up and flowing more then it wont hurt the performance as much.

Yea I don't have a fitv either. I noe the cat is a problem I just don't think it's causing it to not rev over 3500.
