You should be fine if you don't go over the stock revlimit.....
But I would upgrade them to tap into the power above that (i think they produce power up to about 8500-8700)
Also....I don't know if the valve spring/retainer life is reduced because of the increased lift

He'll never get to 8700 RPM with a stock ECU.
But I would upgrade them to tap into the power above that (i think they produce power up to about 8500-8700)

what ecu program would you suggest then? supposed to pick up some 00 ITR cams this weekend and I still don't know what I'm gonna do about the ecu. local tuners say to dyno-tune and run uberdata or crome, but that is because they get to charge me the dyno fees. i just would like a program that would work better with the cams than my stock P30.

first to fail in the bottom end is supposedly the rod bolts. can't remember when, but the occasional 9k redline should be OK, but not everyday.

easily.
but it's not necessary to rev even a stock ITR motor, let alone a b16, to 9000 grand. they don't make power up there and it just causes useless wear on you internals.
