b15b7 in a vx(someone put it in there)
Hello,
I did a search, and didn't find much(anything) about putting this motor into an vx.
I just got another civic, but this one has some issues. The privious owner bought the car, a friend of his blew up the vx motor(a b15z1 right?) and dropped a b15b7. The check engine light is on, the car smells awful, and it pings(yet I still drive it). The most obvious thing would be to get another motor and harness with computer, but I dont have the money currently. The map sensor is currently disconnected so it will idle(lol). I am just wondering if there is any way to get it to run at least so-so and not smell too bad. I dont have much for diagnostics here except a crappy discount autoparts brand manual. I am capable of repairing this so just some suggestions would be great, Thanks!
Stephen

First off its a D15b7 not b15.
For your problems, just to start off with obvious im pretty sure the cars not converted to 4wire o2 from 5 so thats probably the smell or running to rich along with the map sensor not being connected (im actually suprised its running). If you dont know what your doing take it to a shop and have it done right.

First of all sorry about the b15 part... I was looking for some better insight, but I am guessing I will drive it like this. I thought maybe there were some sort of tricks I could do. Anyway Thanks for your help.. I'm not going to bring it to a shop If I am a tech. lol.
Thanks for the help anyway..
