B series speed sensor/cable HELP!!! 1996 civic
hey guys i recently bought a 1996 civic coupe that has a b20 jdm crv motor in it, and its hooked up to a 96 b18b tranny/ecu. has a few nice mods giving it lots of *****, but that doesent matter to me cause i cant tell how fast im going! theres a random plug from the D series harness but will it even fit into the acuras transmition? i need it hooked up somehow so my speedo works. if anyone knows what part i need or if the D series plug will fit please let me know, i cant afford a ticket!

hey man no problum, all check it out and get some pics when my hood un freezes in the Am if its any warmer. its liek minus 27 in nova scotia. lol but yeah its like a simple clip type looking plug and i was told it wouldent fit, but if it will then all have to plug it in. will the OBD series affect this from the 96 civic si harness to the 96 b18 tranny?

Yep, as far as I know, D and B, OBD1 and 2 speed sensor plugs are all the same.
It should be a 3 wire rectangular plug.

This is it on a D-series. It looks almost identical on a B series, and it's in the same location.
You can see here, it's sort of below and back from the thermostat housing:

Re: B series speed sensor/cable HELP!!! 1996 civic
sweet man thanks, its snowing out so i cant go check for it now, but thats the plug end for shure, now i just needa find the other end on the tranny, when the snow screws off lol thanks so much for the help, all keep you posted on how it goes. and one more side question, my car idols around 1500 sometimes even when its warm, is that a sign of too much fuel gitting to the motor where my fuel lines oversized or is it a sign of a shot sensor?
