Default Is B series intake manifold rear bracket really necessary ?

i did my intake manifold and TB swap today with a OEM ITR intake manifold and Skunk2 68mm TB.
it was really pain in the *** to remove the b16 intake manifold due to the stupid bracket that held it to the engine block. took me 2 hours to do the intake manifold swap and when i put in the ITR intake manifold, i did not reinstall the bracket. is it ok or ? i have heard so many people eliminate the bracket too

I am going to say "Honda put it there for a reason." You might end up with some vacuum leaks around the manifold or just end up with a warped manifold if it isn't supported correctly. But I really don't know, I would just rather be on the safe side of things.

I'd think the bracket isn't totally necessary because it doesnt really seem to do much there.

did you notice a difference with the throttle body and ITR intake mani?

yeah i can feel differences, but i have not really driven it hard yet..have not driven pass 5000 rpm yet. but it sounds good and flows very good. and i have the itr manifold bored to 68 mm too. and i dont really lose any low end torque cause i am running a oem s2000 twin loop axle back.

I think ITBs weight less and require less support. I still suggest you put it back on... If it is worth doing, it is worth doing the correct way. This is why you can never trust buying someone else's project car, you never know how many corners they cut to save a little time. But just my unfounded opinion, so take it or leave it.

I ditched mine when I took my GSR IM off and put a BLOX IM on their..... If it was a GSR and still running a GSR IM id say put it back on , because those are heavy... BUt I wouldnt even worry about it. As long as the bolts/nuts are on good , you'll be fine !
