b series hybrid tranny
ok guys ive got a b18b swap in my eg hatch, and i came across a 00 si tranny with a busted case. Ive done a lot of messing around with the d-series trannys, but im new to tearing into a b-series trans. Can i just put both gearsets, shift forks, and diff. into my ls casing? i picked up the busted b16 trans for 80 bucks and im hoping to be able to use it in mine, also, how difficult is it to open up a b-series tranny and switch the gearsets around? Also what else should i replace while im in there, seals, bearings, etc? thanks for the help

Re: b series hybrid tranny (jarvis199)
i would replace all bearing and seals while your in there
i dont think it is harder to tear apart than the D series
the gears im pretty sure can be swapped around but not sure about the shift forks

Re: b series hybrid tranny (civictildeath)
thanks, i was hoping not to have to tear apart the shafts tho, i was wanting to just pull out one whole set of gears and forks and swap 'em, i dont want totear into my working ls tranny and chance ruining it either tho, someone with some serious tranny knowledge care to chime in?
