B series clutch too large to fit gsr transmission?
I have my car at the shop right now getting a new clutch. its a 1994 hatch with a 1997 gsr swap. The clutch went out last week so i ordered one for 94-01 gsr integra. The mechanic called me today to tell me that it won't bolt up, its about 3/8 of an inch too big. He called advance auto and it seems the clutch i got him and the B series clutch they had in stock are the same size. However the D series clutch they have in stock seems to have all the same dimensions as the old clutch he is taking out. How is this possible? I am pretty sure D series clutch kits/flywheels don't fit B series transmissions, right? They couldn't of fit the old D series transmission onto the gsr motor could they? What could be the problem? He is ready to throw in a D series clutch, but it just doesn't feel right to me. Is it possible there is a different transmission in my swap? maybe an H series? Is there anyway to tell? I'd like to get my car finished up since this rental car is killing my wallet. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

He tried rotating it to try all positions, and the D series kit doesn't fit the flywheel either. So two B series clutch kits and a D series clutch kit fail to fit to the flywheel. WTF?

I guess the pressure plate/clutch doesn't fit the flywheel, he said its about 1/4 inch or more off, no matter which way he tries to put it on.

Clutch you ordered is probably wrong one. Not your fault but packageded wrong from factory. Dropped the tranny 3x a long time ago to cuz clutch wouldn't engage. Labeling was correct but clutch that was packaged was wrong.. Go excedy not eBay.....!!!!

I would hunt down the specs for a stock GSR flywheel, and whip out the tape measure, before you keep trying to throw random parts at it. Make sure you have the correct flywheel, and work from there.

Solved:
The first 2 B series clutch kits were either packed wrong, or manufactured wrong. Because he got a 3rd kit from napa and it fit perfectly. Thanks for the suggestions and input.
