Good thinking, because revving as high as then engine can will make more power.

bump for the answer.

If your staying with the B18b, have you considered going boost?

As for the reving, i wouldnt bring it out much more than what the stock limiter is (is it p72, p75? im not sure with that). I know the LS limiter is 7200. If you were to get that raised (by chip or re-flash) i wouldnt go any higher than 7600-7800.

Sarcasm aside, You should be able to tell how high to rev it upon feel.

At WOT when the engine begins to lose power it's definately time to shift.

It's hard to describe, almost like a little fairy peeing in your ear while saying "Shift Dumbass"

Disclaimer: I know this is off topic but...

From your comment about not "liking" VTEC, it appears you don't know much about it. What's not to like? I don't see how it's something that you would "like" or "not like".... Enlighten us.

it's really irrelevant and off-topic either way.

Bottom line, stock internals, stock rev.

Stock redline is 6800, I wouldn't go any higher.

Well, opinions aside, you shouldn't bother revving the motor past stock. One it won't make any power up there, it's just not able to breathe through that head and two, the valvetrain wasn't designed to handle revs much past where the limiter is stock and valve float/seat bounce is the next step on stock springs.
