Axle Help!!!!
So I have a 98 Civic EX with B16A swap and GSR tranny. So today as I got on to the freeway I was in third gear about 5k rpm's and I did a pull to 5th gear about 5-6k rpm's. I looked in my rearview mirror and see a bunch of white-ish grey smoke so I put it in neutral and coast to the next offramp and I came to a stop light. It turned green so I put it in first and tried going but it wouldnt go so I tried 2nd then 3rd and eventually 5th gear and it wont go. So my first thoughts are clutch. But then I remembered that my clutch was never giving signs of slippage. So I rolled my car to next parking lot. I'm dripping a lot of oil. I look into my engine bay and see that the passenger side axle is covered in oil and the boot looks like its off of it. There is a ton of oil dripping from that general area and so I let that car cool down and I reach down and theres a lot of play in the axle. So my questions are how hard are axles to replace or is it even the axle? What could of caused this besides the speeding? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Axle Help!!!!
Sounds like your axle popped out.
Try pushing it back into the transmission. They are held in by a snap-ring on the splines that allows them to be pulled out by a pry bar or pushed in by hand. May take a good shove on the CV joint nearest the trans.

Yep took it too a shop and the seal was bad and was leaking fluid and the axle popped out. They can't figure out why it popped out. There first is guess is the previous owner probably didnt put it in correct or didnt use the correct axle for that swap.
