I can't usually tell what's wrong with the filament until I pull the bulb.
A lot of times, the filament just looks kind of fuzzy, but is still intact. This is just an old bulb.
Don't worry about it and just pull the bulb out and replace it.
If you replace the bulb with a new one and it still doesn't work, then maybe start worrying.

There are two filaments in a 9003 / H4 / HB2 light bulb.
One filament can burn out while the other continues to work just fine.
Both high beams, both low beams, or all lights going out at once would be strange and could indicate a problem.

You are absolutely correct. Just remember buy QUALITY headlights, dont try any of those cheapo fake off road only HID lookalike crap, please. My friend scared me half to death driving me home one day with his, he had high beams on and you could barely see... Just be careful, get new headlights and you are set .

If new bulbs don't work. Check Fuse box under the hood and under your change holder. Or make sure wires aren't touching some part of metal in your car or each other.

He said his fuses look fine, but sometimes that doesn't always means the fuses are fine.
