Average cost of your engine swap ?
Was is the average cost to swap a CX/DX engine with a B18C1 in a 96+ hatch ? I did a search but could not match any keywords. Understanding I will not do this my self but by a respectable honda/acura specialist shop. I'm interested in a turn key smog leagal car - please correct me if this is not possible not including any intake/exhts mods ( which WILL be added ) but some est. price that someone would charge. - thanks !!!

Well i have a 99 hatch and dropped in a 94 B18C into it... the motor price was $3900 for the complete swap and LSD... The reason i did the OBD II to OBD I conversion is because I lived in Madison , WI and there are like NO smog checks and no laws against it there. So i did it.
You could get a similar OBD II US motor for a similar price i imagine.
Once this swap was throughly researched, it was a piece of cake to perform.
I say if your ready, try it your self... you can save some $$

usdm b18c1 from 3000-4000 installed depends on mileage, if you want it smog legal the motor must be same year or newer with all the emision stuff with it. ie cat, o2 sensor and things like that.

I would install it myself. You could learn a great amount from taking apart your car. See how your car works, what parts do, stuff like that. Rent a hoist, and hand tools should do the trick. That's what I used for my swap. You'll learn a great amount of info.....and its fun too...especially when you run into bolts you cant remove...

Seeing that you're in Georgia and all, I don't think they have all the strict Cali smog laws, do they? If so, I wouldn't sweat it if you get a motor that's older than your car.

swaps, always seem to come out to about 4000-5000. there is a lot of little bull crap you have to buy. Stuff i never thought of. (broken sensors, hoses, ac braket, radiator, little bs) It is all worth it. 14.1 at 100.89 on bald ex tires.(intake and exhaust)
