Autozone rotor brand??
I keep hearing suggestions of people getting new rotors from Autozone. Was wondering what brand it is specifically?
The one that keeps coming up is Duralast.....

Re: Autozone rotor brand?? (chris c)
anyone else have an opinion?
So what about Brembo? I have heard the blanks aren't worth the price and that they rust easily.
I am just trying to figure out what rotors to go with.

Re: Autozone rotor brand?? (jefe)
i have brembo cross drilled rotors on my car [cross drilling doing nothing more than adding to the bling factor and possibly leading to stress cracks but hey]. i have had them on for about 20k miles and they are not rusting at all, though they are the nickle coated deals...
i might try the powerslot rotors next if and when the brembos need to go...
other than the big brake kits there are not even many other options, ect. the ECB rotors which are the same cost as the brembos...

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
The low end Autozone rotors are cast in China, and are of average quality. I run them, and have no problems. I do change them when I change the pads. At $14, why not.

Re: (jefe)
i must admit that my spirited driving style is def. hard on brakes but i turn elcheapo rotors into pretzels in under 5000 miles. not worth it for me even if the rotors were free. after warping two sets of autozone rotors i went brembo. i am not saying brembo is the only way to go but you won't catch me mounting a set of autozone rotors on my lawn tractor...
people rave about the powerslot rotors. i am def. going to give them a try next...

Re: (eg6ky)
Another brand I saw besides Winhere is a brand called Mountain.
Both for around $30.
Anyone hear of these, have them, recommend them???
Found both of them on autopartswarehouse.com.

Re: Autozone rotor brand?? (jefe)
I currently run Powerslot rotors and they are good, someone recommended b/c is one of the only slotted rotors that are actually functional, meaning that the “lines” go from the center of the rotor to the edge, most of the other brands, have the slots stop like ½ cm. before the edge of the rotor, which traps the heat instead of displacing it, so the slots in some other brands are just for the bling factor.
I don’t know if this is true but I also heard that OBX, Project Mų and Rotora are good brands. Just my 0.02c

Powerslot rotors are Brembo blanks slotted by powerlsot usually.
and pretty much every brake rotor can rust easily, its the nature of being iron i guess.
i have used autozone rotors before and wotn use them for any car that has a performance midnded driver.
