Default Automatic to Manual Swap (2000 EX Coupe)

Looking to do an automatic to manual swap in a 2000 EX Coupe

Is there a write up anywhere on doing this or a list of everything i need

Here is a list i came up with so far:

Manual Transmission with Mount
Clutch Pedal Assembly
Clutch Resovoir
Shift Linkage
Shifter
Shift ****
Manual Gauge Cluster

Anything else?
Will i need a Manual ECU as well?

thanks

you will also need:
manual axles
clutch line (oem hardline or custom stailess steel)

not sure how they are on a 2000 civic, but on 92-95 civic you need the auto to manual mount, a oem manual mount won't work due to the type of maounting bracket honda uses on the auto's.

I haven't done a 6th gen auto to manual swap yet, but on the 5th gens at least theres no difference between the automatic and manual axles.

6th gens don't require a special mount or cutting and welding like the 5th gens did. you just need the manual transmission top mount and bracket.

Edit, forgot to mention, because yours is an EX you will also need to preform the IACV fix so the car idles properly after the swap.

You will need a manual ECU. Do a write up when you do the swap so other's will have a guide to go by

Honestly, I think it would be much easier to sell the car and use the money + the amount you planned on doing the swap with for a stock manual car.

I wanted to do an auto to manual swap in my old 00 ex and got quoted $2000.. That was from a very reputable shop.

Completely depends on how much the parts are costing you and if you have to pay someone to do the swap for you. When I swapped my '94 sedan I took everything I needed from another civic, paid $100 for all the parts, plus I gave the guy my old automatic transmission and everything associated with it. Did the labour myself. So basically it cost me $100, $150 if you want to add the gas involved to drive and get the parts. 5th and 6th gen civic auto to manual swaps are for the most part a bolt on process with very minor wiring, unlike just about every other vehicle manufacturer where you have cut holes for the pedals and linkage.
