Default Automatic block, manual tranny?

I have a D16Y8 that originally came with an auto tranny. When i removed the driveplate i noticed it only has 6 bolts but blocks with flywheels come with 8. What do i need to do to put a flywheel on, put a rear main seal from a manual block on there?

D-Series flywheels are 6 bolts, you will need the bolts to, the bolts for the flex plate are too short. Also, as a heads up Y8 intake manifolds differ between the automatic and manual versions.

Yeah, just find a flywheel that has the same amount of bolts, which would be any d-series flywheel (because i cant remember how many bolts). I've already done this with a z6, it was a auto from the junk yard. Take the flex-plate off and use those same bolts to bolt on the flywheel and your done.

You cannot use the flex plate bolts, they are far shorter than the flywheel bolts.

Im an idiot, the picture in my manual is from 92-95. I have a Y8 so i guess EK motors have 6 bolts and EGs have 8? I need to go to the junkyard and find a flywheel!

ef, eg, ek sohc = 6 bolt flywheels, b-series have 8. And yes, I believe the AT bolts will thread in but they definitely won't go in far enough to secure the flywheel
