Re: automatic (95automaticcivic)
honestly, sell it and get a 5 speed.
that'll help the most IMHO
if you're like me, you're stuck in a financing deal and you'll have to auto to 5speed swap, but i don't recommend it. it's a lot easier to get a 5 speed

Re: automatic (95automaticcivic)
automatics are gay as hell. but i have found that if you put it all the way in 1st, then floor it, when you get to about 5,000rpms, throw it in D3 and you will feel it pull your *** forward like nothin else.
on a side note i relly ******* hate my automatic. i like to rev to 6000 in neutral and then slam it in to drive while rolling down a hill. i....just....cant..distroy....this..dammned.....th ing!!
any tips?

Re: automatic (skribblah)
haha, before I sold my 97 del sol si, (sadly it was an audiomatic) I shifted from 1, to 2, to d3, to d4.. redlining it most of the way (7100 rpm or so) decent acceleration, problem is (of course) the serious bog in first gear... you can only powerbrake it to about 3300 rpm or so...
aside from that I FINALLY sold it, actually sold it for $9200, and i paid $9500 for it 2 1/2 yrs. ago.. so I am content..
Just picked up a '93 si hatch... beautiful condition inside and out... sooo... MMMMMMM stick... Booooooo auto

Re: automatic (Bassicfun)
Also automatics in Civics are 4 speeds for the most part (if not totally) so they have super tall gears to make up for the one less gear than the manual. Which slows u down alot. A stiffer torque converter will help you transfer power to the wheels better tho, Rick
