AutoLock....... Has anyone ever got through it?
I just got an autolock for x-mas and i was wondering if anyone has ever got their car jacked that has it? It seems to me like it's one of the best theft protection devices for its money.

people has had their car stolen with the autolock fully on their car so don't count on it being you only theft protection. Although i admit it does a hell of a job, and small time theives won't be able to bypass it from all I know.

i hear a company makes a device that will brake it in about 5 seconds. it's a good adition for layerd security though.

i have mine on my car and it hasn't been stolen yet so well see. but i remember somebody that had it on and still got his car stolen. i don't think it fullproof but it helps me sleep better at night.

Yep, i remember someone posted it in a thread a long time ago. I think it takes a little more than 5 seconds though

somone said that there is some company on the internet that sells keys to autolocks for people who have 'lost' them... it might be true, it might be some moron just blabbing his mouth.

Yes. They do have something that breaks through it, but i wont be posting the link up here for reason that some dumb asses get dumb *** ideas sometimes.
Just know you need more security than that.

Without a tow truck its harder to steal a car with it but not impossible.
Ive heard that on some cars it slides right out from the pedal, therefore make sure that **** is on tight and not half ***.
my autolock got stuck and i had to bring down the whole clutch pedal and i had to throw the lock around till it came off.

it can be easily bypassed with a hammer. if you look at the design of it. it works on a pivot. if you look at our cars floor board it is uneven. hence why so many get by passed even though its put on correctly, the pivot is not stable.
take your carpet out and hammer down those bumps in the floor board so when you put the autolock on, it sits nice and flat...

generally they don't cut it... as mentioned there's a tool...
Although it DOES NOT take "5 seconds"... the tool takes a good amount of time to do it's job... 10sec.-a minute at least.... and good news is they're dangerous to use... So the thief can get hurt if he rushes...
overall it's a good product though because most people don't even know about the tool to defeat it. and even if they do it's too much time wasted. which leaves you basically worrying about tow trucks... which there's just not much you can do to stop.
I used to park my car in certain ways to stop a tow truck from being able to safely get it out... but they just don't care... they'll tear it out of any spot if they want it...

yeah, if they want it bad enough, they'll get it. best defense: garage
boots dont really work either, they don't care if they ruin your ****, unless they're stealing the car to sell it.

autolock will help you keep your car safer than it was without it. It can be broken, but what do you have to lose by having it on your car right? I have autolock pro, plus an alarm and I feel safer at night knowing I have those things. ya ya..thieves will take my car if they really want to, but hey...I sleep better at night knowing Im protected by amateurs at least.

If a thief really wants your car he will get it. Simple as that, but anything extra will help keep them away and move onto the easier victim.

They took my R w/ it on.
I had it on properly and extremely tight(to the point where it won't even move), I tighten it up everysingle time like that.
And they took it, nice and quietly from my driveway.
but here is where the theives turn out.. luckily..

Thats why you make your car look as stock as possible, so that the REAL theives wont waste their time trying to steal it. The amateurs might want your car, but they are probably too stupid to get through the autolock. I mean really...who would tow a 10 year old civic with integra rims and a beat d-series

Basically this will stop the average bullshit theif, but yo if they want your car they will get it.. I personally use this and it makes me sleep a bit better at night. You buy this, removable steering wheel hub, and a alarm. You should be ok just carry your steering wheel in a back pack how will they drive it??? lol
