Default auto trans swapo

oko i got a used transmission from a 98 civic coop, 90 days warrenty. it should fit mine! mine shot a gear through the hood. lmao kidding. i am wondering how in the world do you get little metal flakes and grey residue on a trans w/ only 60k? i am told you will always have stuff on that magnet? i how do you drain and fill the t/c. the fluid wasn't burned or crappy looking, but it was dark looking when i drained it. i am wondering if these cars are just crap period? ):

Well it most likely doesn't have 60k. Or it was beat to dealth its hole life. Mine at 201k still has not metal flakes.

I would take the tranny back. And no hondas aren't trash. My civic has 201k and still runs great. You just got a crappy one

well if it is no good or not i have no idea, but metal flakes is never a good thing.

its a 98 with 200,976 on the clock
i wouldnt even bother flusing it, it had metal flakes now it surely with have them another time.... i would take it back and stop getting trannys for however you are geting them from.

Yes, does sound a bit fishy unless some pimple faced teen owned the car it was out of and did neutral drops with it. Wife's 98 Civic EX had 214,000 on it when we sold it and currently has about 225,000 (sold to wife's friend) and her Accord wagon has 203,000 on it. Both of them had nice and clean fluid.

Are you sure the metal did not come from your old trans? Did you flush the cooler lines? If not, the crap may have come from the trans cooler in the radiator.

yea i am sure, i am kind of taking stuff off the trans peaking inside and i see some chipps in the gears and such. i took off the mainshaft sensor and it was covered in metal flakes too. so i am guessing this one is f ing fryed too. how do you drain and fill the t/c?
