auto tranny questions
Hey,
I was planning to have the local Honda dealer do a flush of my auto tranny using Genuine Honda ATF but the guy there was telling me Honda does not reccomend this. We talked about it for a minute or two: He saiid they (the dealership's maintenice shop) asked Honda if they could do it since they had the machine to do it since all their domestic vehicles call for being flushed. Honda said no to them so they don't do it.
I don't want to take it anywhere else because they won't be flushing it with Genuine Honda ATF. I'm not sure what to do now; The dealership guy said they could still do it if I wanted to, but it would be against Honda's reccomendation, so I guess the question to ask now is does this sound filmilar to any of you guys?
If I can't get it flushed with Honda ATF i want to put change my fluid over to Nissan Matic-D. Read some good stuff about it on another board, said it smoothed shifting in the Honda autos.
My other issue is that today I tightedn up my throttle and transmission cables and now the car holds gears longer, and the shift shock is worse, but I like how it holds the gears... I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to as far as my fluids to help kill the shift_shock (kicking of the car when the tranny shifts) and is this tighter cable configuration potentially harmful to the life of my transmission?
