Auto tranny fluid change.. how ?
I checked the fuild on my G/F's civic, and the fluid looked like used motor oil. Time to change it. question is: what do i have to do? is it the same procedure as manual tranny fluid change? i.e drain and refill, or is there something I am missing. I asked at the local pit stop and the guy was telling me $128 bucks because he has to change a filter. Last time i checked, there was no filter on honda D series auto trannies.

no filters... it helps if you have atf in a pump where you can just pump it in.
this is a way to get it real clean but ive never done it without using a pump gun with atf.
pop the drain plug and let the tranny drain out all the way..
then put a funnel in the dipstick tube and have someone start the car and go through gears up and down till you pour about 6-8 quarts through, kill the engine and let it drain. plug it up add 2- 2.2 quarts and your set.
pretty much you gotta pour the atf in the funnel as fast as itll empty.
that way itll get alot cleaner than just draining the pan
