Auto open hatch glass, need help/ideas
I want to be able to open/close the rear hatch glass at the touch of a button and be able to drive with the window open. I would need some type of electric arm that would connect where the hatch strut mounts on 1 side nd just have a hatch strut on th other.
Anyone know what kind of motor/part I should be looking at? I'll fab the arm out of aluminum if I have to I just need to find something that can work.
thnx

if you ride with the back glass open it will suck in exhaust fumes, just like a blazer, or a truck with a shell thats open to the cab.

thats when it will pull exhaust in, when the front windows are open. you can ride all day with the back open and the front windows closed, and it wont pull in exhaust, but as soon as you open the front its like a reverse wind tunnel and all you will smell is exhaust. you can do it if you want, im just giving you a heads up. i used to have a minitruck with a shell, and the accordian gasket connecting the cab and bed where the back window used to be. exhaust fumes like a **** if i opened all the windows.

Yeah, you're gonna get raped in exhaust fumes, same **** happend to me w/ my probe when the hatch wouldn't shut. It blew.
Bought the part the next day so I could close it.
As far as your idea goes.... Maybe b/c it's quater to 8 in the morning, or maybe I'm just dumb or somethign, but I have no idea what you're trying to do. You're trying to have the window pop open all the way? Then shut all the way? Like a window?

Re: (Syndacate)
you think a turn down exhaust tip would help?
I want a lil electric motor with arm to open and close the hatch glass, just thought it would be a cool idea.
Anyone know where to get some polished hatch struts?

Re: (TeggerLS)
No amount of turning down the tip will help, you have a low pressure zone behind the car . When you open the rear hatch the exhaust gasses are sucked into the car. If you don't believe us go for a ride with your hatch open. You might want to pull over and close it before you pass out from carbon monoxide poisoning.
