auto to maual swap
 

im planning to do an auto to manual swap for my 97 DX yes yes d16y7 sucks but lets get off that automatic sucks more https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif i was wondering what tranny should i go to, should i go to an EX tranny from my gen or would an LS tranny bolt in faily easily. thanx lemme know

no ls tranny is b series tranny doesn't bolt up to d series besides the gearing sucks. just use ex tranny make sure it's EX. I think you will need to get a new IM if you are going to use 5spd ecu, because the IACs are different and one is built into the TB and second is built in the IM.

the EX trannyis called the s40 right? will i have to get a whole new ecu or can i just use my stock ecu and trick the car to always thinking its in "park".

i did a motor swap in my coupe and i did the auto2manual. and my car is always in park

isnt that cuz u changed the ecu? im planning on leaving in my y7 for now (sucky) and maybe a mini me later on this yr. (want a gsr swap but dont got the dough)
