Default Auto to manual tranny mount question

Ive been told by some locals that it is possible to put a 96-00ex tranny into a 92-95 ex coupe. i found a 1998ex tranny and im wondering if anyone who has done the auto to manual conversion if this will work and if soo what mods or fabrications had to be made to make it work. Im curious if the tranny will mount or will there have to be a mount fabricated thanks guys

Yes, the transmission from the 96-00 Civics will work in the 92-95 Civics. As long as it's a D series transmission. As far as the mount goes http://www.JDMsh!t.com sells an auto to manual transmission mount that works specifically on the automatic chassi, with a manual transmission. I used this on my '94 Civic and it worked great. However, I'm not sure if it would work on an EK (96-00) transmission, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

just what ej1 said you need that bracket or you could weld it but the bracket will be easier- also your going to need standard pedals, throttle cable, hdyraulic lines, and the shift linkage- theres more im sure im forgeting - the hardest part is the pedals or the linkage if you ask me

Here is a write-up I did. It's a complete parts list for an automatic to manual transmission swap on the EG Civics.

You'll enjoy this swap. It is a good amount of work, but the outcome is well worth it.
