Auto to manual DONE!!!! problem need a lil help please
hey guys, I just did an auto to manual swap in my 99 hatch and I realized that the only way to do it, is to take the motor out of the car due to the enormous size of the automatic transmission. Make you sure get everything in luserkids writeup. I tried to use my auto tranny starter (i drilled new holes for the bolts), but it won't turn the flywheel, i didn't torque the flywheel down, i just used the airgun. Maybe i tightened it too tight and the starter can't turn it to start the car? what do you guys think?
Edit: I just realized that i forgot one of the wires for the starter. DUH!, now she works like a charm. Damn, what a stupid noob mistake.

You can't over torque those bolts so that the crank won't spin. That is what the flywheel is connected to, the crank. The starter gear is not long enough to reach the gears on the manual flywheel, so that is your problem.

thanks guys, tried to save a few bucks but i guess not. The auto tranny had like oil coolers. it was connected to the radiator but the manual one had to holes for it. Should i plug up those lines and hide them? also, i have a p2p 99 ex ecu and i have no knock sensor. i think my car is in limp mode how can i wire it up with the 99 cx harness?
