Default Auto-to-Manual conversion: '95 del sol question

Hello,

New to the site and I intend on doing an auto-to-manual swap on my 1995 auto del sol which has a D16Y6. I have bought parts already for this project and want to know if you can check my grocery list. I am not sure if my shift linkage will work, I have been told it won't but let me know please, thanks. If its too long, I may just cut and weld it to fit as finding del sol linkage might not be so easy.

Here is the list of parts I have so far:

-Manual pedal cluster. Complete Gas, Brake, and Clutch pedal set-up

-D-series starter for manual trans

-D-series flywheel lightened to 13.5lbs

-D-series hydraulic clutch. Approx 30k

-Ek master cylinder and feed line and line w/fitting

-D series Slave cylinder and line w/fitting

-ek D-series shift linkage and shifter

-Manual del-sol si trans w/60k.

-Clutch fork-goes from slave -to throw-out bearing.

Parts that I know I will still need to get:

-Manual trans flywheel bolts

-Manual trans bolts

-speed sensor

-I could also use a clutch fork boot because there is none

*Almost positive I will need del sol linkage after asking other honda people...will CRX linkage or were no hydrulic trans made for crx's?

**Mod my auto ecu to work as a manual (found out how to do that on honda-tech last night)

NOTE: I have used the search function first before posting, thanks for any help. If you have any of the parts I will need feel free to send me a PM or reply to this thread.

I plan on taking my time with this project so no rush...I must say it is pretty awesome how the master cylinder hole is already there, just has a rubber grommet over it. I'm sure its a bit easier to do this conversion on a regular ek or eg and not so much a del sol though.

Let me know if you also have any advice pertaining to this swap that might help, Thank You.

that looks good to me...
del sols have different linkage so you will need to get one from a manual sol,
i may be wrong but i think all crxs arent hydulic, there are converson kits but they are kinda on the pricy side, easier to just get a sol linkage

ebay, craigslist, junk yard. or call honda. you may be able to get a hasport or something, i know they make linkage just not sure if they fit a sol.
did a little digging and yes the del sol is different from others, its actully 3 inches shorter then a ek.

Shorter is what i need...i saw the couple for sale on ebay. I'm pretty sure I could cut and weld the EK linkage together to fit, but i would rather just buy the actual del sol linkage.

Thanks again for the help!

from the best of my knowledge all civic and integ shifters are the same length.. How is it possible I'm using a GSR shift linkage if they are different? I know I'm talking B's Vs D's but the chassis and engine bays are all the same.. Just throwing it out there..

Hints..

The AT trans bracket that's welded to the pass frame rail is at about a 45 degree upward slant to clear the huge A/T trans.. The manuals are almost level.. You might want to drill spot welds off a junkyard civic and weld it to yours. OR, Hasport and place racing I believe make conversion mounts now. I don't like the solid poly mounts though, too noisy.. Not to mention I could care less how my valves feel when I can feel em opening and closing through my steering wheel.. =]

Another tip..

After you remove your shifter (AT) from the car, it will not start.. You need to jump the to large (Blk-Wht + Blk-Yel) I believe to get the starter to work.. There are also a pair of wires used on the ECU harness for Sol-A and Sol-B on the auto trans.. If you cut them at the ECU plug and patch them to the reverse switch wires from the old AT shifter switch, your reverse lights will work if you use a manual transmission engine harness..

Heads up, it's a long ride.. =]
