Default Auto to Manual conversion, 00 EX

okay guys I have a 2000 civic EX automatic, and I am preparing for an automatic to manual swap. I know a few people that have done this on 96-98 civic EXs, but I want to make sure there isn't anything drastically different in the 99-00. I know about the IACV issue, but I have heard I can use my auto ECU, IM, TB and not have the surging idle problem as long as I jump the auto transmission harness where it used to plug in. as others claim it worked on their cars, but am I missing anything? I swear I am getting a service manual to learn about all this but it would surely help if someone could point stuff out ahead of time... if that doesn't work I will go ahead and buy the IM, TB and all that too, but if I can avoid it I will. any help would be great... also I have my heart set on doing this so it's too late to tell me my idea is stupid...
