If you look behind your ignition. There are several contacts. Once says ACC another says BATT another says ON etc. You can put it on either ACC or ON. If its on ACC then the tach will turn on when you turn your key one click. If its on ON then the tach will turn on when you turn the key to the second click ( right before it cranks ).
