authentic type r?
k well im like a big time noob with a big time noob question but i was hoping that maybe some one could answer it anyway, well i was wondering how it would be possible to find out if a car is an authentic type r 96 civic hatch or just a regular 96 hatch that some one slapped a type r sign on the back? iduno if any of that made sense but help would be appreciated. thnx

Well, if the title says it's a 1996, then it's not a Civic Type R. CTR's started production in 1997.
Also:
1. CTR's will have no vin unless it's added after being imported.
2. CTR's will have a B16B
3. CTR's will have a color-code sticker in the doorjam, reading either:
NH-0, Y-56, NH-583M, or NH-592P.
4. CTR's will have a ID plate on the radiator support.
1,2, and 4 can be faked easily.
Also:
