ATTENTION: Insurance Experts...
I recently got my car stolen and stripped and now the insurance company is in the process of looking at it.
My car was stripped but I have all the receipts for:
My motor (B16)
Bolt ons( i/h/e)
Wheels
Stereo
Speakers
My question is to all who have been in my situation:
How much did the insurance company end up giving you?
How much should I expect?
What happens if they try to low ball me?
Do all the receipts really make a difference?
Thanks and any info would be appreciated, I have never been in the situation before.

I had just gotten my 5 zigen rims and they were stolen like a week later, the insurance gave me enough to replace the rims, I cant tell you anything else but they very co-operative in my case.

what company do you have??
what type of coverage?
i'm assuming full coverage but the first thing you should do is find that big fat envelope the first sent you when you first got the policy..... yeah that one, i know it took me a "minute" to find mine........and read it cover to cover....... if you feel they are low balling you, deny any compensation.... this can be easily accomplished by simply not cashing any payment they send you.... but check with your state .......... call your state's Commissioner of Insurance.........matter of fact...... call the Comissioner of Insurance regardless and find out what your rights are

If the insurance company sucks, you probably won't get anything for the modifications. If they're good, they may off what you payed. But, it also depends on how they insure modification, if at all.
Good luck and do what the guy above said.

Your gonna be lucky if you get any extra cash, my dads car was stolen and what not and he sent them over 25-30 receipts and he only got like 500-1000 extra. We have State Farm. Sorry to hear hope everything goes well.

Re: ATTENTION: Insurance Experts... (Rockinfunzone)
just give them receipts for the parts on your car. pics always help too. As for their offer, just remember you always have the right to refuse. If you are not happy with their estimate, you can request a 3rd party appraisal of your car to get top dollar. If your insurance company agrees to that estimate your all good. If not, your estimate and and the insurance companies estimate will be brought in front of a mediator for a final decision that both parties have to agree on. And if your estimate is the one chosen you will be reimbursed the money to get your car appraised (around $100-200)
Good luck!
