Attaching front lip with 3m tape??
Hey there guys, just got a fibreglass spoon style front lip for the hatch but this particular one didnt have any mounting brackets on it so I was just wondering if the people that have attached their front lips on with 3m double side tape can chime in and give some opinions on it?
How strong is this stuff and will it be strong enough for daily driving? Of course it will still be attached with screws on the sides where the wheel wells are.

i think you should be okay on my old hatch i did the same. but just makes sure the surface where ur putting the tape is clean so it sticks good. I cleaned mine with an alchohol pad just to get like all wax and **** off that area so it would stick..mine never fell off
Good luck

^^ That sounds really positive there!
Did you have scraped your front lip? If so how well did it still stick on? Also what "color" version did you use? As I hear they have many different types

my buddy has an abs type r replica lip and he 3m'd it up front and screws on the wells. we found out that if you only use tape up front, when you park to close to curbs, for instance, the lip just moves as oppose to screws ripping holes out of both the lip and the bumber cover. screws for the sides and tape for the front definately the way to go

Yeah that was the stuff I was worried about, parking to close to the curb or scraping it lightly etc...
Your friend there, he didnt have a problem with the lip peeling off from the bumper when he scraps/park to close to the curb? the tape is strong enough to keep the lip stayed put??

it rolled under the bumber but he backed up and it was still attached despite the bending of the lip
