Hoping some of the ASR users out there can shed some light. Are the front(ASR logo) and rear faces(mounting face to chassis) of the ASR subframe parallel? In other words, when the frame is placed on a level ground, the mounting faces do not seat flat on the ground and the screw holes are not prependicular to the front face. This is for an EK civic.

are you trying to say you want to see the logo when its mounted? if u dont see the logo when mounted im sure you have it on the wrong way. is that what your asking?

Okay, the front of the brace has the ASR logo on it. The rear I refer to would be where the holes for the bolts come out from the brace when mounted. These 2 surfaces are not parallel. Is this part of the design or is my brace faulty?

Are you saying the front face of the ASR brace is at one plane, and the rear face of the ASR brace is on another plane?

So, when viewed from the side, instead of being a square/rectangle, one side is off? \_I instead of I_I

Though I suppose it could be angled when viewed from the top as well.

So long as the rear (bolt face) is a flat plane, it doesn't matter a whole lot if the front is different (within reason of course - too far and it could make for a weaker part)

Yes monkeyboy. Viewed from the top, it is tapering to the center. The main face with the ASR logo and its parallel rear is ok. It is the two small attachments at the back of the main body. One end is flushed with the brace and the other end angled. Anyway I just failed attempting to install it due to a distorted rear subframe on the passenger side. Guess I have to bring it to my mech to get it fixed. Hope they can sort out the distortion.

hmm looks like we both have the same problem..lemme know how that works out with you..like price wise

I believe the design is intentional to have those faces angled. The chassis subframe is not flat. The bolts for the roll bar bracket and the lower arm are not parallel. Anyway my mech has sorted it out after some banging and knocking. All is good now.

how did your mech sort it out??

i will be buying an asr subframe brace in the next 4 months and i will definitely NOT be going to a mechanic. did he bang up your frame or the brace to make it fit? did he bend anything or just bump things to fit it in place?
