Arco gas now part of bp. Is it ok?
Hey, I've recently started filling up at arco in my EJ1 simply because it is a whole 20 cents cheaper per gallon in my area than the 76's and shell stations. My car seems to be doing fine and I haven't noticed a drop in performance or milage. I know that it's now part of BP, so my question to you: Am I hurting my car by putting arco in it or is it ok now?

Personally, gas in gas.I don't think you're hurting your engine.
Just an aside, if you put in Chevron/Texaco with techron Supreme all of a sudden, you will feel a difference Just my .02

I'm starting to think I could either pay for better gas w/ an additive like Chevron, or buy cheap gas and put in the lucas fuel treatment. I don't know which would be better because I think they would be the same price roughly

when arco says "just gas" in there commercials they really mean it.The reason the prices are cheaper is because there are no additives in the fuel to help clean carbon deposits and things like that.It really is just gas. I use it in my daily and don't have any problems

All Gas must meet federal guidelines. All gas has some type of detergent to meet the federal guideline.
Top tier just has 50% more additives then the Federal guideline.
Chevron, Shell, Union76, Texaco, Conoco are top tier that I know of.
I've ran any type of gas, I don't really care. When people say I get better gas mileage with this type of gas is usually BS to me, driving patterns are never the same and you will never have the same mileage because driving in general is always a different variable.

This is my equation....
ARCO=WATER
Half Shell(V-power) + Half Chevron(Techron)= VTEC gas.
But on the reals i hate ARCO. That gas in any of my cars has never last me as much as Chevron or shell. I only use shell...no matter what. Best cleaning and mileage. I tried all the gas companies. Chevron=lasts but feels laggy, 76= lasts a little lass but feels more responsive. Shell= in between both..lasts good and feels good.
My .02 and when i say last i mean MPG.

Ok, cool beans. I guess I'll start filling up at Chevron because my car is worth more to me than saving $2 every fill up haha
