I bought an apexi world sport 2 muffler.... i have a b16a2, 4-1 header, high flow cat, and a 2 1/4" exhaust piping.... at cold idle 1400 rpms the tip rattles like a mother trucker... really pisses me off... when the exhaust gets warm it stops almost like there are two loose pieces of metal that rub .... if i cut the tip flush with the exhaust box will it sound different? will i loose? gain? fudge everything up? never really seen this sort of thing... any help would be grand....

it will sound different. is the ratteling comin from the tip? is that why you want to cut it off?

mess with your exhaust hangers. try and bend them so it doesnt vibrate

So does the exhaust hit the bumper? I thought the tip by itself rattles. You could go to a muffler shop so they can weld it if it is loose.

its the tip... if i press against it with my hand it stops... ive used apexi exhaust with other cars... never had a problem. untill this one... dunno if other people have had this problem or just me? im pretty dissapointed cause they are a well know company.

maybe you could go to a muffler shop and see if they can weld it to make it stop ratteling, im sure they wouldnt charge you more than like 15 dollars
