Default APEXi WS Good Enough For High HP NA?

I'm thinking about getting the APEXi WS exhaust for my EK hatch, but I'm not sure if it's good enough for my eventual plans. I'm dropping a JDM B18C1 in there for now, but next year, I am going to do a CR-VTEC with 12.x compression and either Toda B/C or Jun3 cams. Will the WS exhaust be free-flowing enough? What about the DC exhaust?

I did a search, but I couldn't find much.

Theoritcally I wouldn't think so. The vast majority of people recommend a 2.5 for that kind of NA motor anyways.

unless you want to drop the cat at the track the BEST exhaust you can get for NA applicationsis one of those SMS systems (2.5" catback). check in the ITR forum, most of those guys use em!

WS is defiantly too small and restrictive, look into a Kakimoto or Type One setup, especially if you are planning on making 200+whp

from personal expirence 60mm piping with a N1 style can will work very well
(ie. Apex N1, RSR N1 GTII, HKS Hiper)

I am getting my Kakimoto N1 next week will see how that works out, current setup is a JDM N1 specs GTII Exmag (60mm) (its under the gas tank design, which isn't practical here in GTA during winters

I was always of the belief that the WS does not even have a "straight-through" muffler. If this is the case, you certainly wouldn't want one.

I hope it is straight though. I have a LS swap in my EX coupe. I just ordered the WS because of how quite it is. I have no major plans of FI or all motor, just basic bolt-ons.

I tried doing a search on "SMS" and "SMSP" and go nothing. Anyone have any more details of the exhaust system? Pics?

How about the Thermal Stealth and DC (not the twin can system) exhausts?

Thanks for the input, everyone.

I have the WS, and it's a chambered muffler. It is NOT for those people who want to shift at 8,000rpm for maximum power, it's too restrictive. It brings low end and midrange up a bit, and it's really quiet for a aftermarket exhaust, but it's not the best exhaust to free up HP. It's an EXCELLENT exhaust for basic bolt-ons if you are planning to use your car for just a daily driver. But for FI or heavily modified NA setups, it's not good...If you want a straight through that is quiet, the Tanabe Hyper isn't that loud. The GReddy's are straight through and also do the job, especially the EVO and PE, but their quality is horrendous. I know, I've had 2 and they both rusted to **** in about a year. The Apexi is in pristine condition...I have yet to sand off rust or do some kind of touch up on it, it's perfect as day one.

Sounds good. I dont plan on doing FI so I guess it will work perfect for me.
