APC Racing Seats for a 1993 Honda Del Sol
I have a pair of APC F1 Bucket Racing Seats and I am trying to mount them into my car, does anyone know where I can get the rails? Everyplace I hear from says they have to be custom made...I know that's bull. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried looking at the stock seat rails to see if they'd be able to mount to the new seats?

Yeah, they're dif. measurements. I'll probaby have to make them myself unless i wanna spend 300 bucks on fabricating some myself

Strange, I just did a quick Google search with "mounting APC seats" and it came up with a few pages of results. For all of the distributors selling them, they claim "universal mounts included." Maybe you didn't get everything with your order.
For example:
The new Formula 1 racing seat from APC features the latest in ergonomic design and styling. The Formula 1 is aggressive while still providing great comfort. Covered in heavy-duty, breathable fabric, this great-fitting seat has an adjustable backrest and firm lumbar support. Not only is this APC Formula 1 racing seat one of the best values in performance seating, it also passes all required safety tests and comes with universal mounting brackets. The included hardware fits most late-model imports and some domestics. Keep in mind that some vehicles may require bracket modification or additional custom brackets (available separately). There are no brackets made for these seats.
I had to get my pair fabricated.
I do see alot of weapon R seat brackets on EBAY quote "Brackets come predrill holes for Weapon R but those hole will fit many other brands too
But of course you can drill your own holes for other brand seats
brackets will fit Tenzo, APC, no name, MOMO, R1 sparco etc but may need to drill new holes on the bracket because not all seat specs are the same"

if they have the same bottom mounts as Sparcos measure yours and give them a call http://www.sparcousa.com most likely you can use wedge eng rails or simply make tabs from the seat mounts to your factory sliders (not the best but a lot of people do)

has anybody actually sat in one of these seats that they have in the shop on display??? they are ******* horrible
and thats so unsafe to start choping up other rails to make them fit . i mean hell the crappy seats are like 2 for 300 bucks why spend another 300 on nice rails.

most recaros, corbeau, etc arent certified either, nor are oem seats. to get back on the topic: i would just take the seats to an auto upolstery shop to have them fab up some brackets... shouldnt cost more than $200 for both seats

It's a wonder why people shy away from this forum. Look just because these seats are not "certified Honda-Tech Hella_JDM" approved doesn't mean we can't help the guy.
You know not everyone has the same taste in cars (thank god). So if all your good for is pushing your beliefs of how a car should look then just keep your mouth shut.
Who cares if their APC. Who cares if you or I like them. Bottom line is this guy bought seats and wants to install them in his car, needs help and came to a Tech Site (and i use that term VERY loosely) for help. If you guys just wanna bash him then go somewhere else.
To the original poster if you called APC and they can't help you then you are going to half to take matters into your own hands. You can take your factory seat rails off and see if it would be feasible to modify them to fit your seats. If it looks like you are going to hack the structural integrity right out of them then you are going to have to go a different route. Call up a leading manufacturer like Sparco, Momo, Recaro, Cobra etc... and let them know your problem. Take some measurements and see if they have something that will work for you. Last you can contact a local shop that would feel confident in making you some seat brackets.
Did you try contacting shops or stores that carry APC products or these seats and see if they have brackets or hardware or even maybe templates that APC sent out to try and find something. APC or not I just find it hard to believe they you are left with no options.
